Cream Cookies (Kids baking school)

Here's the recipe from the one kids baking school.


1/4 cup shortening

3/4 cup sugar

1 egg

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 tsp vanilla

2 cup flour

1/4 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

Cream together shortening and sugar, add egg, cream and vanilla to creamed mixture and mix well. Mix the rest of the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl and add to the wet mixture. You can use your hands to bring the thick dough together. Roll into balls and bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes depending on how big you make them, edges should be slightly brown.


Cream cookie icing

1/4 cup butter

1 cup icing sugar

1-3 Tbsp boiling water

Cream the butter and icing sugar together and add just enough boiling water to make it into a creamy icing consistency. If you've added too much don't fret, just a more icing sugar.
